“My wife and I had the pleasure of working with Rachel Baran from Schlosser Real Estate for several months to land our first home. She is super friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful when we desperately needed it. We fell in love with our current house and knew right away that we wanted it. Home-buying is not without its issues and our issue came in the form of a significant under appraisal. We either needed to come to an agreement with the seller to reduce the price significantly or we would need to put up a lot of cash that we did not have available. After reviewing the appraisal, Rachel brought it to our attention that some of the comparables were located in vastly different areas that had home values that were much lower. I was hesitant to challenge the appraisal because I had been told by several people that they rarely, if ever, adjust their initial appraisal so the deal was about to fall through. Thankfully, after I gave it some thought, I spoke with Rachel and she excitedly began working on her own home comparables to help challenge the appraisal. A week later, we received word that they increased the appraisal by nearly $10,000 so we were finally able to come to an agreement with the seller. Highly recommend working with either Rachel or anyone on the Schlosser team because it’s clear that they know what they’re doing and aren’t trying to force you into a housing situation that might not be ideal. Will definitely work with Rachel again in the future and can’t thank her enough for helping us not give up on our first home!”
